Hi. Been doing some stuff and not on the internet much. But you look like you got on fine without me!!! :)
I love the Church... it's what keeps us all together and moving in the same direction. It's what teaches us we are all one family, and related to one another in God. It feeds us, comforts us, and protects us. The arms of Mother Church are very real and they love to hold each of us, or all of us together.
I love the Creed... the Nicene Creed is a restatement of our baptisms. All of us who say and follow the Creed are reminded that we are one Body with one Creator, one Savior, and one Head, no matter how different we each may be.
"For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures..."
Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles, "Peace I give to you; my own peace I leave with you". Regard not our sins, but the faith of your Church, and give us the peace and unity of that heavenly City, where with the Father and the Holy Spirit you live and reign, now and forever. Amen +
Take, eat: This is my Body, which is given for you... Drink this, all of you: This is my Blood of the new Covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgivness of sins... Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name... Save us from the time of trial, and deliver us from evil...
God is our hope and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will we not fear, though the earth be moved,
and though the hills be carried into the midst of the sea.
In faith, Dave
