However, because you thought it necessary to ask for prayer, I will assume this person is alcoholic and causing harm to himself and others. Pray this: "Lord, teach him that without you he can do nothing, but that with you there is hope". I'm alcoholic, so listen to me: Get him to AA if you can, but don't beat yourself up if he won't go yet and don't go with him. God IS working on him already but it might take a while before he's desperate enough to change. An alcoholic will never be cured but, one day at a time, he does NOT have to drink; he CAN recover with God's help. The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you; the Lord lift up his countenance over you and give you peace, now and forever.
