Subject: Two Kill Shelters to Inform everyone About

There are two shelters I would like to inform the public about. The first is the New York City Center for Animal Care and Control, and their website can be found by going to google and typeing in NYCACC under web search. The other shelter is the TJ O'Connor Regional Dog Pound, and their website is www.tjoconnoradoptioncenter.com, but please note you will come up with no hits. This means you must click on it underneath where it says: if URL is correct then try clicking the following link. CLick on the link and the website will pop up. These two kill shelter's often have several pit or pit mixes up for adoption, but if your looking to rescue/adopt from the NYCACC its best to try to adopt one that has been there for a long lenth of time (you can check by clicking on the dog's name and looking for the intake date), as this will save the dog as well as give the newer arrival a chance to look for a home. Note: the NYCACC generally has a two month hold period and dogs that have been there on the longer side are at risk for euthanasia due to space issues. As for TJO there is no impound date listed so calling and asking which ones are in danger of being put down is the best way to save at risk dogs.
