Terribly Abused pit mix needs devoted home

We have a beautiful male, neutered,approximately two years old pit mix that we rescued last year. He had been HORRIBLY abused, neck cut open with a box cutter from ear to ear, tied behind a vehicle and dragged down the street, etc, etc. He is slowly coming out of his shell and loves to give kisses now. BUT, he fights with other dogs (we have 5 other rescue dogs) I cannot bear to put him to sleep but cannot afford two thousand dollar vet bills to repair chewed up dogs every few months. He needs a kind, patient loving home as an "only" dog. Please, please can someone help me. I love this little dog.
