I am in Tennessee and do Pit Bull rescue and foster for our County Humane Society. We have 3 who were all placed in the same home last year that were returned last week. Long story short, a man working for the farm left and took the 3 pits. Since technically they were only fostering for us we requested them back. They surrendered them back to us. We think he may have been involved in fighting. Lexie is a very sweet red pit bull, I fostered her for several months last year. She came to me starved and abused and literally blossomed into a sweetheart. She gets along with other dogs good, not sure about cats. Lexie is probably 3 years. Molly is black and white and beautiful. She was surrendered to shelter after an abuse call which she was starved with no water and covered with fleas and mange. She has come a long way and is also a sweetie. She gets along with most dogs while supervised. Again, not sure about cats. Roxy is also a sweet girl. Roxy was owner surrendered after they had her for 2 years. They had numerous dogs, all in the house and had never had any problems with them. Roxy was submissive to their Lab and the owners stated that the Lab was a bully. They left one day and when they came home the Lab was dead and Roxy was cut up. They were devastated to surrender her because they knew that whatever happened had been started by the Lab. They couldn't keep her so they surrendered her. She is so sweet and looks at you like she's so confused. She's tan and white and small. Besides these 3 we had 2 more surrendered last week. They are housebroken, never spent a night outside. The owners had a 2 year old that the dogs were great with. She's pregnant, husband went to jail, she has to move and can't take the dogs. Same old story. They are Hannah and Romeo. Brother and sister. About 1-2 years old. Very sweet. May be separated if needed. We are trying to place all of these in foster homes. Shelter had one empty run today which worries me. The Humane Society is Dickson County Tennessee. It is a kill shelter. I will help with transport to right home.
Thank You,
Laura Mucerino
