I found this starving pit bull female 3 days ago on the side of the road. She is nothing but a skeleton and could not walk ( the sight would have broken anyones's heart) when I stopped and picked her up. She is eating well and was able to walk the next morning after a meal of rice and chicken and is gaining strength. She seems to be afraid of me and is very vocal with growls and barks when I talk to her but she has approached and licked my fingers. Since I am unable to keep this dog because I already have two dogs and 4 cats, does anyone have any suggestions about what I can do when she becomes healthy. What is this about some shelters not accepting pit bulls? Any help would be appreciated.
