I do not really regard Lawrencia Helmsii as being highly succulent even though it gives this general appearance in photographs. It is one of the most unusual species in the malvaceae family in Australia. The cactus/succulent like shape is the result of numerous tiny twigs and leaves closely compacted around the stems. Flowers are fairly typical of the genus - quite small greenish-yellow which one has to look closely to notice. It occurs only at specific distances above the waterline around several salt lakes in W.A. I attempted to grow it in Brisbane about ten years ago with no success.
