Subject: Aloe plicatilis

I have several Aloe plicatilis plants. One flowered in March, the rest are putting out inflorescences now (late May. It looks like they will be in full bloom in June/July. In previous years most of my plants have flowered in late winter (ie August). However in their recently released book, More Succulents for the Garden, Rudolf Schulz and Attila Kapitany write that this species flowers in early summer. It seems that this plant can be in flower at just about any time of year except midsummer! I would be very interested to know what time of year most plants of this species flower, in Australia. Apparently in South Africa the peak flowering period is August to October (ie late winter/early spring).
