I totally disagree with Cassie's response. I think that it is good for Janet to find out whether or not she has the gene becasue then she and her family can prepare for what is to come. If they did not find out they would have to deal with all of the emotionis that come with haveing a sick loved on and learning about the disease at the same time. At least if they findout in advance then they can do soem research on the disease now so that they know what is comming. I do not however, think that her and her family's lives should be put on hold. Yes this is sad news but they should not stop everything they are doing to mourn what is to come. They should move on with their lives, onlywith more knowledge of their future. I think that only the person who is being tested has the right to decide whether it would be good or bad for the person to get tested for a genetic disease. Only them knows what is best for themselves and i think that no one should try to help or hinder their decision.
