I definitely agree with Kara in that it was a good idea for Sherry to get tested for the specific gene. Sherry wanted to have control over her life and this is something everyone is entitled to. If knowing that she had this gene and could possible develop breast cancer made her feel that she had control over life, then no one can critize her. I feel that it is her decision and only her decision. It's not for anyone to judge her just because they may have different opinions on genetic testing. There is a lot of good that can come from knowing if you carry a certain gene. Most likely future decisions would be based upon this knowledge and I feel that if I were in Sherry's position I would want to know too.
