In reply to: Candy 's message, "You are right Lafaux, this kind of crap goes on everywhere, I guess it just struck me as odd that this guy was videotaping ANYTHING in Inglewood period. It could also be the video camera is hot and he was just testing it out before taking it to the nearest pawn shop....LOL BTW, LA cops are notorious assholes, no matter what their race...jmo, as always" on 16:54:37 07/12/02 Fri

The man was staying at the hotel when he noticed the commotion outside from his window. He grabbed his video camera and ran to the scene, along with other bystanders. When he noticed that the police had seen him videotaping, he gave his tape to a friend to hold. Later, several police officers came to his hotel room to question witnesses, but they hadn't yet figured out that he was the one videotaping the incident. Got that info from CNN.com. Matters not to me how the incident got taped or who taped it. A kid got smashed into a squad car for no reason. But I can understand how the officer might have felt threatened, seeing as the kid was handcuffed and there were about five or six other cops around. I would have been scared of that child too.

[> [> [> [> When I was a child, I thought the KKK were scary. It wasn't until I became an adult that I really learned what fear was. I was afraid all of the time for my two sons, but it wasn't of the KKK. It was because of the COPS. There are some good ones, but it's that brotherhood of silence that protects the bad ones, and allows this sort of shit to continue. -- Lafaux, 05:56:24 07/13/02 Sat
