Subject: Is anyone else upset about the proposed MLB strike?

NEW YORK, Aug. 17 — Baseball’s union set an Aug. 30 strike date Friday, moving the sport closer to its ninth work stoppage in three decades and angering fans sick of money squabbles between players and team owners.

I for one cannot believe that these overpaid jocks would demand more relief in their luxury taxes. Aren't their entire lives a luxury? I would love to get paid over $1M a year for being a bookkeeper, but you don't see me striking do you? NO. (I actually enjoy being a bookkeeper, LOL) But as a fan of baseball for over 4 years, sometimes staying up till 1am to watch a game, I don't envy these guys, only regret that as a fan, I have to suffer for their greed. I truly hope these guys get the message when they lose their bread and butter, the fans. As stated in many an article, everytime the game suffers a strike, they lose fans, that equals revenue. Pretty soon the great American sport will be soccer? Not a day I want to see......

[> Strike averted!! Gee I wonder why? Could it be the fans giving up on America's pastime=players/owners are left broke and in debt? -- Candy, 09:41:56 09/01/02 Sun
