Subject: Hey dd! How do we determine what is fact and what is not? Do we trust the media? After all, that's where we get our information? (News is their livelihood, and they depend on leaks.) Or should trust government agencies who are so caught up in pettiness that the are willing to sacrife the saftey of the people they should be protecting? Or do we trust the politicians who too are only interested in making the other side look by in the eyes of the voters?
In reply to: dd 's message, "First off Joy he did not release the information reference the bunker. Check your facts. The Plain Dealer published the story right after Sept 11TH. Dashel Gephart Lott and Haster did. It was put out right after Sept 11th. As for the rest of the leaks in DC...." on 08:16:47 06/22/02 Sat

with the Noble media and how they get their facts straight. When they mess up you see their retaction barried somewhere in the comics section.

As for those who are caught up in pettiness. They are doing a job you or others would not or will not. Put you self on the line before you judge them. You have no clue what they knew and did not know.

Do you really think they go into work every day saying fuck the american people lets see who I can get killed today, while I stab another agency in the back.

As for the politicians yes they all stink so why not just not vote fot them. Teddy, Bill, George, Al, Dick, Tom, Barbara, all of them suck.

Generalizing a group of people because a few are bad or make mistakes is wrong.

I could say the same that all priest are child molesters, all liberals hate america, or all tearcher can't teach their way out of a paper bag since our education system is down the drain.

BUT ALWAYS trust the Holy MEDIA for they always tell the truth. They are Righteous.

[> [> [> [> dd, I do love it when you decide to show up! Damn! I waited two weeks for you to respond. I'll have to say it again, agree with the press or not, that's where we get most of our information. Of course they tilt, slant, and turn it upside down, but that's what we get. So, we don't know every detail of what goes on in government agencies. What do we do, stick our hands in our pockets, and tape our mouths? Nope, can't do that! Misinformation can be detrimental, but our country does have a free press, and that press, though not always right, does keep a system of checks and balances. -- Lafaux, 22:48:24 07/03/02 Wed

If the press did not print back in 2000 that we where listening to Osma's Satellite phone do you think we would have known about Sept 11th.

Now that they printed where the bunker is do you think you governement is safe from attack.

If they print things that will get soldiers killed or policeman killed because they are targeting certain groups and have information where a drop will be, is that right. All I ask is for them to use common sense which they do not have.

The best example of their mis information was Jenin. 300 to 500 Palistines killed by Isreali's forces. For weeks they wrote it in the papers, they stated on the news. After all that was said and done. It was all lies. The perpatrated a lie. Just like in WWII when they said the Jews were fine in Europe.

Read the press but use your own judgement. Know they are bias and out to sell papers and advertising. The more sensational the more they sell. Trust me you think politicians are bad. The press is just as bad.

[> [> [> [> [> [> You know what! I agree with you about the press blowing our National Security for the sake of being first to break the story. But... -- Lafaux, 12:35:04 07/04/02 Thu

here's the rub! You told Joy that she should get her facts straight, and my response was, "Where is she or any of us suppose to get our information, if not from the press?" It's all we have. Now, do we have to believe everything that the press reports? That's quite another story. Since, most citizens don't work for a government agency, they have to rely on whatever sources they have. You can't challenge them if they base their arguements on the information given them because they don't have information that they are not privy to.

Nothing I said was from inside sources. I wouldn't know one if I saw one. The news and papers contradict each other emensely. The Plain Dealer article was vetted after they said the White house gave it up. The Times and USA Today reported on that. So did Fox News and Chris Matthews.

I love to watch both sides. Cuz somewhere in between their views is the truth.

As for me telling Laufax and Joy what to do and think I doubt that I have that kind of power. I am sure they can take care of themselves.

why don't you belly up to the bar again.

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> dd, I certainly hope that you don't think that we don't read and listen to more than one source just because our interpretation is different from your own? If so, your assumption is quite flawed, as assumptions usually are. -- Lafaux, 12:14:40 07/16/02 Tue

I am sure you read what you can to arrive at it and read both sides. That's what I do. I do not have any other inside source. -- dd, 14:56:12 07/18/02 Thu
