I recently heard that Plainfield, Indiana was named as a hotbed of terrorist activity, by some conservative expert on terrorism. Folks, Plainfield Indiana, is more like CORNFIELD, Indiana. I would know, because it's not far from where I live. Terrorist activity? Hardly... (eyeroll) It is the home of the North American Islamic Center, it's been there as LONG as I can remember and not a peep out of'em, other than some very visible support of some good local charities. Plainfield is also the home of the regional offices for the Latter Day Saints... not much out of them either, really. I've heard rumors of Baptists, Methodist, Catholics and even some gasp... Mennonites in Plainfield. Keep an eye on all of them, I say! (shaking head)

It really does bother me that they can focus on ANYONE'S religion as some kind of indicator as to whether they're a terrorist or not. I understand the government's stance, of course, we all have fear, BUT it's very wrong to label someone a terrorist based on their religious beliefs. It seems simplistic and WAY too easy, also it's ineffective as hell. I heard the report about Plainfield on CNN, and it was simply based on it being the home of the North American Islamic Center.

BTW, Andy and Barney (sheriffs of Cornfield, Indiana) checked it out throughly and completely. They have little better to do since there is LITTLE to NO crime in Plainfield and have they along with the FBI and God knows what other government agency have NOT been able to infiltrate any subversive plots, even if they probably wouldn't mind finding some, cuz it's not every that day you get to be on CNN, when you're from Cornfield, er, I mean Plainfield.
