I agree, Lafaux. It's not just who has the biggest suv anymore. It's who has the biggest suv with the biggest flag on it:) OTOH, I've seen many interviews with young men who have inlisted since Sept. 11 and most of them stole my heart with what they had to say about why they were inlisting. I hope this administration doesn't screw them over. -- knock yourself out

The flags give you comfort. That's something that I forgot. They should be a tribute to all those who perished.
Honestly, I love this country but I think it's good to keep any administration on their toes by being informed......... Last Tuesday when I went to vote, I was the only one in the building besides the people in charge of the ballots. There was really low voter turnout in my city. It's these things that makes me question our true understanding of patriotism. I also feel that some think in terms of 'blind patriotism'(I'm not very articulate, so I hope this makes sense.), like blind faith. I have to question. This country has done some wonderful things, but also some horrible things that tend to get swept under the rug at times like this. We need to rally together but we also need to know we're not a superior people just because we reside in US borders...............But Kammi, I will never question the heroism, bravery and patriotism of your brother. He and people like him give me hope for the human race.
