Perfect peace
Is like a radiant lotus
Flowering in full bloom
Basking in the soft spring sun
Beside a silent brook
Of cool mountain water

It's seed is sown
Through kindness
Friendship and merciful deed
It's lifesource
Is continual change
To the greater principal
From the lesser creation
Of the course exterior

How then
Can seed grow
When one is so desperate
To taste freedom
That the sacred soil
They have been
So carefully planted beneath
Has not been given water
