Listen and watch real hard and one day you too will actually see instead of what you want to see..... -- A7, 11:30:23 05/18/02 Sat

I approach my life and the books/movies/television soap couples etc. from MY reality and I pray that I don't lose that till I am old and senile.

I really don't look forward to the day when I am so feeble minded that I look to someone else to TELL me what I see with my own two good eyes and a brain that has stood me in good stead for more years than I care to mention.

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> I like the challenge of seeing it from all sides. That's sort of what fiction is for me. Sometimes, it's the ability of the storytellers and actors to GRACEFULLY change my POV that makes me WARM to whatever fiction, I'm into that really wins me over. Senile? Nope, just open minded enough to enjoy the ride, and accept the story for what the creators are trying to tell us. -- OTWB, 14:23:43 05/18/02 Sat

Of course we all look for what the writers are trying to tell us, however I am sure we also look for that through the filter of our own experiences and preferences.

I look at stories far differently now than I did at 20 or even 40. But I've always looked at them in my OWN way, even when someone has implied I'm looking at it the WRONG way and not the RIGHT way.

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Good point Lou. I've always been told that I watched TnT in the wrong way, but well.... from my own life experiences, my view on her will always be different than yours. click -- OTWB, 04:26:40 05/19/02 Sun

What I meant though is when you hate something then all of a sudden the writer has been able to CHANGE your POV, by speaking to something within. I wasn't a T&B fan at first, I was a Cord/Blair fan (ducking flames) LOVED them, thought that they were ALL that!!! I wasn't a huge Rebecca fan, but I thought she belonged with Todd.... so when T&B started up, I wasn't a very happy camper. But, the writers WON me over with it and it stuck.

I used to hate Todd, hated him. Remember when he got shot then rose out of the ocean and everybody was cheering? I wasn't. I was screaming, "Nazi Surf Monster Must Die!" (take off on an old Troma movie) I was maybe the biggest Todd hater on the Net! Believe it. After a while, probably around the time he became friends with CJ and Sarah, I started kind of liking him, and I felt really BAD about it, because well... obvious reasons. It wasn't the writers that won me over though, it was ROGER... so well... it stuck. That's what I meant by saying what I said above. I watched his story and the writers put it together in such a way, that they hit something deep inside of me and it changed my filter just a bit, same with Todd and Blair, I didn't want them together, but at one point or another... they clicked in a HUGE way for me. I'm really not one of those couple's fans, I generatlly just go with things.

As far as me hating Tea, that's something that will probably never change with me, again due to my own experiences and it really does have less to do with Todd and Blair, then people think. I guess that's WHY the MB's are so much fun, everybody has different experiences. We do tend to run with folks who have similar experiences of POV's and I think it's a kick about how love or hatred of a soap opera character really brings that out. People kind of bond on it, then the bond becomes a little larger than just a silly soap opera.
