How is she like Tea?? Tea never admitted a mistake in her life. She's definitely a usurper, but I don't see how Natalie is.

Who knows about Nat's involvement in setting Seth up? Who knows about her blackmailing of Al? When she is exposed, then maybe I'll give a damn about her, but until then I don't.

How is she like Tea? She's like Tea in that she moved into Jessica's life. She's worse than Tea because she preteneded to be Jessica's friend(unforgivable in my book.) She's like Tea because suddenly she's a heroine. Everytime I turn around, she's off saving Jessica's butt, reminds me of Tea saving Todd. Where would either of them be without the likes of Tea and Natalie?

[> [> [> [> [> OK, I see your point about the charade when she first came to town, but I can forgive that, she dumped Allison's plan. I just think she's refreshing, the rest of the teens are so dull. She reminds me of Tina, a manipulator with a good heart, just not as dumb. Tea was always played as a saint once she entered Todd's world, I don't see that happening with Nat. I don't know why I'm defending her, she's not my favorite, just the best of the kids. NT -- Anonymous, 16:41:00 04/28/02 Sun

Lafaux, you need to let up on that FF finger, LOL! Natalie totally outed herself on everything. She confessed to Max, and Seth that she set him up. She's told everyone about her blackmailing Al...that's why everyone's so pissed at her. Cris covered for her, but she has gone around town telling everyone what she did...that is why Jen the Dolt was manhandling her the other day. IA I like it when they don't try and garner too much sympathy for the "bad" characters, let a bitch be a bitch....BUT they have to show layers and some depth as well as reasons for the bitchiness for the character to be long term.
I did not see Tina first come on the scene, but I always liked her. As for Mr. Manning, I loved him from the moment he told Marty "I forgive you" on the stand.

I'm thinking it's the way he or she looks, the attitude, the ability to look out for number one, as well as the ability to care for others... Hmmmm! Must be Nat's looks!

What is it? I like that she doesn't look like a typical soap babe. I don't know...
Now about Lindsay, why do I like her when I'm not supposed to? Definitely CH's portrayal but something more, can I relate to the jealousy and looking out for #1 for both characters?!? We'll save that one for another day!

See and I think that Nat's got all that: looks, tude, looking out for #1, and she also cares for others (at least that's what they are trying to show us now)......

But, I honestly don't know what it is...because for me, sometimes, I change my mind about a character. A character I hated, I grow to love, or vice versa...now that character's hair style didn't change, they didn't have plastic surgery, but I changed my opinion of them.

Take my strange new attraction to "Al".....hated him when he was a whiney ass baby in the wheelchair. But when he's standing I am starting to dig him, LOL! Why? I can't figure it out either, but if I could I could answer you question about what it is about certain characters that make us want to defend them to the death.

And why do I agree with some of my friends about some characters, but not others? I mean some people like almost the exact same things as you do, but then there is that one character that you go "Eeeeeewww!!! You like THEM?!"

I love a character depending on how much they entertain me, whether they are mean to a character I hate, and how much they remind me of myself. I love Natalie because she entertains me, and she was mean to Jess. I have always found that girl to be annoying. I actually think MA is beautiful, a lot more so than ET. I personally never found ET to be at all attractive;her features are too disproportionate. I normally will not say something like that on MD; I would not want the actress to read it and get her feelings hurt. But I think she has alien eyes, and a dumb-dog looking nose, plus stringy thin- ass hair.

[> [> [> [> My greatest soap loyalty is to the character of Sonny Corinthos. Sometimes I cannot force myself to watch what they are doing to him, but my heart always belongs to him. I am and always will be a Sonny Firster(click) -- Anonymous, 11:05:11 05/05/02 Sun

even when he annoys me to the point that I want to kick his as@ all over Port Charles. When Sonny first came around he was teamed with Luke during the revisited Frank Smith era but he was basically a one note slimy guy meant to cause trouble with Jagger and Karen.

Over time Sonny evolved sand grew, and as a fan I was able to see and feel that growth. They took the character of Sonny beyond the simple villian, or mob boss with a heart stereotype. His past shaded everything he did and his love for Stone was felt in the way he looked out for him and cared for him while he was ill.

He loved Robin because of Stone and did everything to make her life with HIV better. One scene in particular made me fall for Sonny. Robin and Stone were alseep in Sonny's bed when things were drawing to an end for Stone. Sonny sat quietly in a chair in a dark corner with such a look of helpless agony radiating in his dark eyes. Mac walked in and looked at his neice with Stone and then looked at Sonny. It was then that he knew that there was more to Sonny than crime boss. There was a heart that was breaking over the loss of Stone. I felt that pain and that change in Sonny.

His torture over the loss of Lily and their baby, his undying passion for Brenda that seemed to set a fire in his blood, his love of Jason and Robin, and the way he stood by Carly when she lost their son. He did not travel to his dark abyss instead he was the anchor that kept Carly from falling off the edge.

Sonny is so complex and much of that si centered around the terrible abuse he suffred at the hands of Deke, his stepfather. It colors hsi relationship with his father, with women, and with those he trusts. Sonny carries the burdens of many losses on his shoulders and Maurice Benard brings Sonny's struggles as well as his happy moments to life in such a real way. He is indeed the most layered daytime charcter i have ever seen and for teh reasons I have listed and so many others, I will always be hsi loyal fan.
