ABC's One Life To Live will reveal on July 1st that Rae Cummings-the psychotherapist played by Linda Dano- is a great big fake who tried but failed to get a master's degree. (Worse yet, she framed a diploma she fished out of the trash.) "This is perfect because my character is such
a stupid therapist," Dano says, reminding us that Rae unleashed Viki's wicked alternate personality, Niki, and sprung the criminally insane Allison from a mental institution. It was Dano who suggested the plot twist to OLTL chief Gary Tomlin. "Playing therapist to everyone in
town is a real trap," she says. "I was so bored and frustrated. "No longer. "Rae's whole world is going to come crashing down--she's afraid,she's embarrassed, she could even get arrested,"Dano says. "This is great stuff to play. I just hope the audience doesn't turn on her."
