I disagree about swearing on the life of his dog as raising suspicion. Many people would swear their innocence on a bible, but then one would have to be religious to feel that act had any meaning. So I think he chose those 'netural' things on which to place his left hand and swear innocence because everyone knew how important they were to him and swearing on a bible isn't PC.

I am witholding judgement on his innoncence simply because I can't believe a professional cyclist would be so stupid as to take a blood transfusion from another person when they could just as well use their own.
