It seems that the twin can be absorbed by the mother, the placenta or the remaining twin:

Kinda freaky.

Of course, all of this is mere speculation regarding Tyler. Maybe he has chimeric blood, maybe not. It's the only legit reason I can see for failing those two tests, though.

For his sake, I hope he really is a genetic oddity. If chimerism causes false positives, I hope this case brings the matter to light so innocent athletes aren't pilloried in the future, whether Tyler turns out to be clean or not.
