I think he is getting respect, he just isn't considered an elite, podium contender in this race. Some folks just like to post this thought in ways we might see as disrespectful of his talent and accomplishments this year. I'm rooting for Floyd like crazy, but he has to show that he can compete in a three-week stage race every day, in every condition. In short, he needs to win on a mountain stage or come in with the same time as Valverde, Heras, et al. when the final selection is made. Given how long he has been racing this year at full tilt, it is a super hard thing to hang with guys like that. There is no shame if he cracks after all of his hard work this season.
