Horner has matured a lot since that earlier stint in Europe. Also, he has had interest from European teams (and not just to be a domestique), but he only wants to ride for a team where English is the primary language and where he feels comfortable. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him in Europe next year... the ProTour is changing the face of the game in Europe, and Horner could very easily find himself a situation that he likes and make the jump.

Oh, and Horner is fully capable of riding as a support rider to help the team (see the first message in this thread about his ride in SF this year). And half the European peloton is filled with so-called "head cases" like Horner.
