Yes I wonder what the real story behind Botero's Columbian training was. He would be an interesting subject for a biography.

Re. Savoldelli and Evans I think bad luck was a big part of their lack of success. Injuries, and Savoldelli was discouraged from concentrating on the Giro. Plus Evans was left off the team in what might have been his break-out Tour.
