Everyone lauded Feferer as the next champ, more so the Safin and Roddick. Safin took his first and only slam 4 years ago now.

It was a matter of getting it together on the court, he always had the shots.

Richard Gasquet and Rafael Nadal are both players who were playing slams at 16, they are both 18 now, and Nadal is ranked 38 in the world.

A British Exercise physiologist who worked with Pat Cash a few years ago stated he could take an English Premier league soccer player and turn him into a top 100 tennis player within 2 years. Ignoring the fact that a top 100 tennis player (between 90-100 calibre) probably takes on average three years to get his ranking there playing satellites without any wild cards, this was self promotion at its best.

One wonders why British tennis is perpetually in the doldrums, Henman and the Canadian excepted, when there is a few hundred EPL soccer players.
