I am a full-time assistant professor of ELT and presently acting as head of the ELT Department at the European University of Lefke, North Cyprus. I got an unpaid leave from my present university for a year to do postdoctoral research. I plan on studying on a project entitled ‘A Quasi-Experimental Study of Peer Coaching on EFL Teachers’ Perceptions of Self Efficacy, Instructional Leadership and Classroom Teacher Behavior’ in a your university
During my study, I would also like to express my interest working as a visiting assistant professor or lecturer in English Department of your university as of September 2002 for a year. I have been teaching at this university since 1999 and I have 15-year university teaching experience. My research interests are academic writing, essay and essay writing, professional development, peer coaching, instructional supervision, reflective teaching, psychology and language acquisition, instructional leadership and clinical supervision in ELT. I have native-like fluency in English and I sincerely believe that I will be able to show evidence of ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with a team of colleagues.
Here is a summary of what I can provide you:
1. A 15-year classroom experience as an ESL/EFL instructor
2. A 10-year TOEFL teaching experience
3. A highly successful course of study for intensive TOEFL preparation and essay writing
4. Teacher training in TOEFL
5. Energetic and passionate classroom presence and instruction
I would be grateful if you could consider my resume attached. If you are interested, I can be avaliable for interview at any time given and give e-mail contacts for references, and letters of recommendations from my current and former administrators here and Dokuz Eylul University.
Unless you have a teaching position available for me, I should be grateful if you could let me know whether you would provide me accommodation and access to your university library to help me with the expenses during my study. The details of the project are available upon your request. Thank you for your consideration
Sincerely Yours,
Suleyman D. Goker
