A crack of thunder awakens me from my concentration. The fighters are still practicing all around me. "Hmm… do these guys ever take a break," I wonder to myself as I stand up. The sensei walks over to me and says, "Piccolo-san! You're awake! I thought you would never snap out of it!" "What do you mean," I begin, "How many hours have I been concentrating?" The sensei gives me an odd look. "Hours? You've been in a trance for the past day and a half!" he exclaims. Day and a half? What's happening to me? I've never concentrated for that long before. I feel fine though. "Well, I'm just glad to see that you're okay. You had all of us kind of worried. And we haven't even known you for very long. It's something about your life aura that makes us want to trust you. I've not seen a shade of blue like that in years," the sensei says to me. "My aura?" I begin, "but I didn't even charge up yesterday. How do you know what color my aura is?" The sensei pauses for a moment then says, "You may not believe this, but your aura shone while you were concentrating. Spooked us all pretty good too. I've never seen anyone do that before. It seems that everything about you, from your skin, to your fighting style, to your aura, is unique." I stand frozen in place while I take in all this inforamation. "My aura shone while I was concentrating? I've never heard of that before," I think to myself. This certainly is strange. I can't let it get to me though. I turn to the sensei, smile at the kindly old man and say, "Thank you for your concern, but I'm sure It's nothing. After all, I feel fine." The sensei replies by saying, "Well, if you say so. I'll let you get back to your taining," and starts to walk away. I put my weighted gear and armor back on and begin my routine stretches along with 200 situps and pushups. I decide to do handstands again to keep working on my balance and endurance. I manage to hold one (without quivering) for about an hour, a new record for me. After balance, I begin practicing my moves. I start with jabs from both arms, imagining that I'm facing an imaginary foe. Then, I switch to working on my hook punches and uppercuts. "If I was really fighting someone, they'd be in a world of hurt by now," I think to myself. I then switch to roundhouse kicks and knee thrusts. Finally, I work on my scissor kicks and snap kicks. It seems that the speed of my attacks has increased quite significantly in the past week. "At the rate I'm going at, my friends and I should have a good chance of defeating this foe that Vegeto spoke to me of. A rather young man bursts into the dojo and begins yalling hysterically, "HELP!
Please! Somebody help me!" The sensei walks over to the young man and calmly says, "Young man, please calm down. tell us what is wrong and we'll help you if we can." The young man says (still hysterically), "My village! It's been completely destroyed!" All my family and friends have been killed!" The sensei, myself, and all the fighters in the dojo gasp in horror. I run over to the young man, grab him by the shoulder, and ask him, "Who did this?" He replies (hysterically), "I don't know! Some white skinned alien with something purple on his forehead!" "Frieza!" I exclaim and run out of the dojo towards where the smoke is rising. About 5 minutes later, I receive at ground zero of what was once a peaceful village. Sure enough, in the distance, I see Frieza walking away from the destruction he has just caused. I begin running across the ruins, the fires having already been put out by the rain. "Frieza! Stop right there, fiend!" He slowly turns towards me. "Oh. It's YOU.So Piccolo, what have you been up to? Ha! Ha! Ha!" he says to me. My anger greatly increases as I say to him, "Evil one! You speak as if nothing has happened here! Hundreds of people have died by your hand and you think nothing of it! This cannot be tolerated!" He replies by saying, "Ha! Mere humans! What a waste of time! They were noyhing more than target practice to me! Why should you care about such weaklings? Didn't you once want to take over the world?" "Things change Frieza! Unlike you, I've seen the error of my ways!" I start, "I care for them because it is my duty as a defender of Earth to protect the weak! For your sins, you must die! Yaaahhhh!!!" We then begin to run towards each other. Just before we collide, a lightning bolt strikes between us hurtling us miles away from each other. The last thing I see before unconsciousness sets in is Frieza's hurtling limply across the sky. I awaken several hours later back in the dojo. "Piccolo-san! You're okay!" the sensai says to me. I sit up and exclaim, "Frieza! Where is he?" The sensei shakes his head and says, "I'm sorry Piccolo-san, but I'm afraid he got away." I stand up begin to walk out into the rainy night. "Wait Piccolo-san!" the sensei yells to me. I turn around to see him hand something to me. "Take this Piccolo-san. It's a headband patch that has an ancient kanji symbol of good luck on it. It is the symbol of this dojo. Please accept it with our blessings," he finishes. I take of my weighted headband and fuse the patch to the front of it. I put it back on (under my weighted turban), bow to the sensei, and proceed into the rainy night to begin my search for Frieza. "Frieza... I shall have my revenge! Justice shall prevail!"
