"Bean was born Dallas Frederick Burrows in Burlington, Vermont, the son of Marian Ainsworth (née Pollard) and George Frederick Burrows. His father was a founding member of the American Civil Liberties Union,. . . . "

Although he was never on BONANZA, he was on that other TV western of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.

I liked Orson Bean a lot, although I sometimes got him confused with Larry Blyden.

It's interesting that Bean once battled with Bud Collyer over the blacklist:

Yet, he wound like Collyer, a conservative Christian with Andrew Breitbart as his son-in-law.

Orson was on the Dennis Miller Radio Show on Friday (3-9) and discussed his son-in-law. Orson sounded humorous and still very quick-witted, even given the sad circumstances. He loved Andrew very much.
