He'd have been a good choice for Bonanza.
3 & 1/2 years after Bonanza was cancelled, Kurt Russell
stared with Tim Matheson (Bonanza ranch hand Griff King
from Season 14 of Bonanza) in a short-lived NBC Western,
"The Quest".
An excellent western that didn't last long, most
unfortunately. The 2 hour pilot movie is available on DVD.
