Subject: BONANZA on youtube

As per Andy Klyde: CBS Home Entertainment (CBSHE) is anxious to boost DVD sales and believes (not unreasonably) that the abundance of BONANZA episodes available on You Tube is cutting into DVD sales numbers. Accordingly, fans that have posted COMPLETE eps at You Tube (in several parts or one whole post) should REMOVE them voluntarily A.S.A.P. You Tube will pull them and that would be unpleasant and inconvenient for the poster. Short clips and montage tributes should be okay, but complete eps will not be.

And yet there are several uploaders with full eps still there.

Usually, people want stuff to be posted to Youtube. Some countries do not show reruns like America nor are they on the same publishing season. For instance, Baywatch. S1-3 were released in USA but Germany has the entire series out. So when viewers can't find what they seek, Youtube is the way to go. I for one fell in love with Bonanza through watching the Youtube eps and clips. Now that its out on DVD, I'm in the process of purchasing them but its because of Youtube that I am purchasing them.
