My father was to have the role David Canary was cast in. Unfortunately, Dad was severly injured just prior to beginning filming.
Dad worked on several seasons of Bonanza on and off as a stuntman, double and actor.
As it happens, I visited the set and went on location many, many times, eventually becomming very close friends with Dan Blocker, who was a truly great guy.

Very interesting Susan, I had never heard that. I've heard David Canary speak very fondly of Dan Blocker, and Lorne Greene for that matter. Seemed like more of a business relationship with Mike, despite the great chemistry. The stories you could probably tell from being "on set"!
