That was the silliest diatribe I've ever read. It became a self parody.

Rick's site has always been very fair and balanced. he criticized Robertson because he refused to broadcast an episode pleading for religious tolerance and one that had a picture of a sexy woman over a bar in a saloon.

Religious tolerance and sexy. What could be more American than that?

Besides, all the actors who played the Cartwrights were "Hollywood liberals" (at least at the time of the show) and the show certainly reflected the values of time quite accurately. (I have the impression Rick is a bit more conservative but I'll let him speak to that if he considers you post worthy of a response.)

And a Happy new Year to you, although it sounds like you haven't had one in a while!

I happen to know from Rick's deceased fiancé that you could not be more wrong, Mr. Wade. His fiancé, Alicia, was my friend, and the sweetest Christian you could ever hope to meet. I also am a Christian, a committed one, and I would never judge and condemn anyone the way you did Rick. You know absolutely nothing about the good man Rick is. Your diatribe against him embarrasses me as Christian. I want everyone reading this to know that Wade definitely does NOT represent all committed Christians. I am so sorry, Rick. Alicia and Hope would both be on here defending you with everything they had. And they were both unashamed, committed Christians. I will stand in for them as best I can. God bless you, Rick. And God help you, Mr. Wade, to learn more about our loving God.
