Subject: Lost Episodes made "non-exclusive" for TV reruns

NBC made the so-called Lost Episodes non-exclusive for airplay. The company had them exclusively for one cable channel for many years because they didn't want to pay high royalty fees to surviving actors who worked on the series. The revival on Encore Westerns put the Lost Episodes in big demand so that is why NBC made the show non-exclusive for future airplay on Inspiration and MeTV.

Rick, I thought NBC didn't own the show anymore that CBS did or is that just the DVD Rights?

Hi Mark, NBC has owned Bonanza outright since 1959. They will own it forever. CBS owns the DVD and TV distribution rights only, as they have a lease with NBC.
