Subject: Henry Darrow (1933-2021)

Henry Darrow has passed away at the age of 87. He is best known for his portrayal of Manolito "Mano" Montoya on The High Chaparral for four seasons, from 1967 to 1971.

The High Chaparral was created by Bonanza creator David Dortort.

Mr Darrow was a guest star in a single episode of Bonanza, "Amigo," from season eight.

He also had guest starring roles in episodes of Gunsmoke, Daniel Boone, Mission: Impossible, Rod Serling's Night Gallery, Kung Fu and Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Henry Darrow replaced Efrem Zimbalist Jr as Zorro's father in The Family Channel series Zorro (1990-1993).

Most of the actors are no longer living from that time. There are only about 25% left alive. I did a check last fall. Many passed away into the 2000’s and in the last 5 years, even more.

Hi Tim,

Both Henry Darrow and Anthony Zerbe were in the TV movie Attica in 1980. I saw it with them and Morgan Freeman. Of course, they were both in Harry-O.

Harry O, starring David Janssen as private eye Harry Orwell, was an underrated show, and it's unfortunate that it didn't run longer. I haven't seen it in so long that I had forgotten Henry Darrow and Anthony Zerbe were part of the cast for a time.

The Fugitive (1963-1967) is one of the all time great television dramas. It starred David Janssen as Richard Kimble.
