Some are in airdate sequence, some not. I'd call it random sequence. Common with TV reruns. Today, they rarely air them in production order. More film dates I will get up in the next few years for sure. I have them for seasons 1-4 and for misc eps through season 14.

Thank you so much for the information, Rick. I just found it odd how Encore Westerns grouped the Season 9 episodes before David Canary appeared (ones filmed from April--May 1967) together and aired those first. I followed the Ponderosa Scenery episode guide as I watched those, and they were shown in production order, believe it or not. It's great having the website to read about all the behind the scenes stuff that happened while the episodes were shot.

You're welcome, Jane. Remember that NBC took the show's running sequence apart when they divided 430 episodes in 1973, so that could mislead anyone as to how they are aired today. The official CBS DVDs bypass all that and stay true to the airdate sequence for all seasons.

Very cool that Season 13 began on Encore Westerns today (Dec. 31) with the first episode filmed, "Rock a Bye Hoss", instead of the first episode aired.

Today, January 17, "The Twenty-Sixth Grave" began the 14th and final season of Bonanza on Encore Westerns. According to Ponderosa Scenery, it was the first episode filmed. The educated guess that Encore is airing the episodes in production order grows stronger...
