I definitley agree that TWILIGHT TOWN has an eerie feel to it as does episodes such as THE HUNTER,A MATTER OF CIRCUMSTANCE,THE PRISONERS,THUNDER MAN, TERROR AT 2AM, KINGDOM OF FEAR, FACE OF FEAR, etc.

But the one that sticks out the most spookish in my mind has to be TO DIE IN DARKNESS due to the fact we saw CARTWRIGHT and CANDY aging before out very eyes. And its something about them being stuck in that dreaded looking pit that seperates them from the rest of the world and the look on their faces when they get out is just a sight to get use to knowing that they havent seen the light of day for over a month or so.. Very EERIE feeling in this episode which I consider the scariest.

Mike was one of the most realistic directors there was and it shows in Darkness very well!

"Five Candles" from season 10. Ben and four others get trapped under the courthouse when it caves in and one of them may be a killer. Poor Joe is a mess and gets his ribs broken (and even catches the killer after his accident) and the ending is terrifying. Great story. Imagine being trapped down there and thinking you can die any any given moment!

More nightmarish-laced eps--

"The Avenger" (S 2)
"Between Heaven and Earth" (S 6)
"Justice" (S 8)
"Shanklin" (S 13)
"He Was Only Seven" (S 13)
"Riot" (S 14)
