The issue was kept hushed for many years and the reasons were quite obvious. Andrew Klyde knows himself and I'm sure Guy's stuntman, Buddy Van Horn does, too. I can get hold of him any day of the week. He was on the 5 Bonanza shows with Guy and doubled him on the set and location. Mr. Dortort and his wife Rose knew all the details of the issue, but it was too negative to break open and it would have made Mike look bad, given his star status. I'd say NBC was very dumb to try and replace Adam when he was still on the show, but they wanted to do it that way and actors are just ordinary people who aren't perfect. One more fact; the 60's was pre-tabloid era and it was much different back then. By the late 70's, it was nothing like it and just about any actor would get scandalized by the relentless media and newfound tabloids. Had it been 1983, and the Bonanza cast would have been under fire by tabloids as NBC and Paramount employess would have leaked it out for money.
