I see that METV in one of their commercials has Mat Dillon (James Arness) giving ol Hoss (D.B.) a punch, as "Ralph" (Jackie Gleason) would say: (on "The Honeymooners") Pow! Right in the Kisser! And then they show Matt walking with Kitty over for to buy her a drink at her Saloon. Reminds me of when Ben says in that episode of: Welcome Home Rita, after the fist fight.

I like Hoss's battles with Robert "Big Buck" Maffei in "The Abduction" and Cal Bolder in "The Ape".

How much did Mr. Blocker Weigh ?? I know his son Dirk is also a large frammed Man.

Were they diabetic's ??

Dan was quite the gentle giant I felt. So kind hearted and alway's a smile on his face. And deeply missed by all of his fan's.

Dan's average weight was 300 lbs. When they made the pilot, it was 320 in 1959 and he lost weight by walking. By early 1972, it went over 350, as he drank a lot of bourbon and he lost weight before the surgery, but died after the blood clot went to his heart. No diabetes. Blocker had high blood pressure he inherited from his parents. He'd quit drinking at times because that didn't help it. He kicked it for good in 1972 and quit smoking cigs and cigars, too. Dirk isn't as big and tall as Dan but looks just like his him. Nice guy.

My Gosh , I never knew any of that information Rick. Wow*

Thankyou so much for taking the time to let me know this.

Have You Met Dirk ?? He's A Cute Man. The spittin' image of his father.

I wish there was a way to invite the Off-Spring of these fine actor's to stop by the board and give us some family history details that only they would know.

I mean things like the added stress these roles placed on them and their spouse's and the children.
And were the roles too challenging.

I saw Michael's daughter on tv one time , she played The School Teacher on LHOTP. She's Beautifull.

No, I've never met Dirk, but he's sweetheart. Mitch Vogel's (Jamie Cartwright) daughter, Shauna has the site and forum in her PC. She's posted here in past years.

I would give anything if there could be a date & time arranged with the children of these wonderfull actor's , so they could come here and just post story after story of what it was like to grow up around these famous men & women
and the hardship's and toll's it took on their private lives at home, as they spent more time at the studio and shoot location's for endless hour's on end , and they might only get to come home for a quick shower , dinner , 1 hour of sleep , and they leave and are right back at their Job Task.

I don't see how they endured the hardship's , the desert heat location's , the Rattle Snake's (yuck*) Scorpian's , spider's , and all those other nasty critter's that slink , slither, and slide across the sand.

My Hat goes off to these People. They are Gifted actor's that did this Hard Work To Bring Pleasure to The Viewing Tv Audience. And We're Still Enjoying It 40-50-60-70 Years Later.

The Greatest Thrill I Had Was Going To Roy Roger's House In Apple Valley California, right across the street from the golf course. His Son Dusty Lives there Now.
Big Double RR on his 2 Front Gates. All Built out of Adobe.

I did not get to go in the house or driveway , Just Drove by and stopped to admire a man and woman I miss Greatly.
