Subject: How to join the JTF2
In reply to: andrew 's message, "how can i get in" on 23:07:43 01/23/03 Thu

Hello

so you're interested in joining the JTF2.
Well being in cadets is a grate start off to the Canadian Forces. However you need to know that the JTF is VERY different from cadets.
The way you can apply to the JTF is by working in the military or Regular forces. you need to work with the CF for a certain amount of years, than you can apply through your CO to go on to the next phase, if you are accepted, than you will have to under go many other phase's to see if you are mentally and physically fit, the fitness requirements are VERY demanding.

My advice to you is to stay in cadets than joining the military, you need to be in the military reserves or the reg force to apply for JTF2. each gender in the military from the rank of Pte-Maj has the right to apply for JTF2, but you must have from 3-4yrs experience in the CF (not cadets) .... you may be interested in buying the book on the JTF there is a lot of good info in it, the book is called "Canada's Secret Commandos, the unauthorized story of Joint Task Force Two" it's written by David Pugliese! ... in the book it talks about the fitness requirements and so fourth, also you can search the DND site for info on JTF recruiting.

Well I wish you luck with cadets. Train hard! Fight Easy!
