Subject: Brooklyn hate assault suspect arrested, freed, arrested again, freed again

A Brooklyn woman was freed without bail Monday for the second time in three days on a charge of assaulting a stranger on the street.

Tiffany Harris, 30, was arrested Sunday on charges she attacked a 35-year-old woman in Prospect Heights for no apparent reason.

That arrest came two days after Harris was accused of a hate crime assault against three Jewish women outside Chabad Lubavitch headquarters in Crown Heights.

Exasperated prosecutors asked Brooklyn Criminal Court Judge Archana Rao to impose some kind of monitoring on Harris while she awaits trial.

We're here two days after the defendant was here on another case,” said an assistant district attorney. “We do think the highest level of supervision available would be appropriate.

Harris lawyer, Jacqueline Caruana from Brooklyn Defender Services, told the court that her client had met with a social worker, most recently on Monday.

Judge Rao noted that Harris had failed to appear in court in previous cases.

Rao issued orders of protection for Harris’ most recent alleged victims.

OK, no problem,ť Harris said before she signed the orders. She wore sweatpants and a pair of Uggs at the hearing.

Rao then released Harris again without bail. As a condition of her release, Rao warned Harris not to be arrested again while the matter is pending in court.

When the judge informed of her next court date on the most recent charge, Harris answered “Yes ma’am” in a sweet voice.

The charges against Harris are misdemeanors.

Caruana told reporters her client had nothing to say.
