We are one of the few services online who values our users' privacy, and have never sold your information. We have even fought hard to defend your privacy in legal cases; however, we've done it with almost no financial support -- paying out of pocket to continue providing the service. Due to the issues imposed on us by advertisers, we also stopped hosting most ads on the forums many years ago. We hope you appreciate our efforts.

If you've received a suspicious email claiming to be from the Social Security Administration (SSA), you should not forward it to anyone, especially not to friends and family, as this could expose them to the same potential scam.
Instead, you should report the phishing email and then delete it.
Here's how to report it:
Forward the suspicious email to the U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) at phishing-report@us-cert.gov.
Report the scam to the Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General (SSA OIG) at oig.ssa.gov. You can also contact the OIG Fraud Hotline at 1-800-269-0271.
You can also report the email to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
