Yes, he's off to Washington to square it off with the Big Chief. I hear that Israel and the US had planned early last year to begin mil exercises this year in prep for an allied invasion of Iraq. Sharon knew this. Bush knew this. In fact, the preparations had begun while Clinton was in the White House. So, with this knowledge, and the knowledge of how desperate Bush was to get square with his 'Islamic' enemies, and with the knowledge that Christian Fundamentalists in the US were solidly pro-Israel [Bush emerges from these cute quarters], Bush was in no position or mood to stymie Sharon's recent month-long murder campaign in Palestinian territories. Sharon used his strategic value to the US to get squuare with Arafat. He told his troops 'to take the gloves off' with the Palestinians. All because Bush wanted to do what Pop Bush failed to do in 1991.
