They were precious reading in the 70s, Don along with Hermann Hesse et al.

My publisher Zeus hopes to get it into hardcopy after a spell on Web.

I like ths short story especially Latin writers Marquez Neruda Borges et al

Steinbeck had the craft by the balls... a superb writer...but Hesse was world champ at the short story.

I am captivated at the reactions and the earnestness of some on forums. I go into Pravda and South African and American and British and most 'people' behave similarly on the Net. I did a thesis [or at least I prepared for a thesis] on Hate and the Internet was my prime source. Those from Montana and that Matthew Hale of the World Church of the Creator [if you don't know this one, Don, do your self a favor and look it up and laugh till you weep] are classic tales of brain snap.

Anyway, push on MacDuff [was that a brand of whisky?]
