Well written, Don, amd damned informative. History is the most interesting fable! Fabulous history!

One of cinema's most memorable moments was during the early stages in Lawrence of Arabia when Omar Sharif, from seemingly miles away and on horseback [anyway, that was David Lean's magic] puit a neat bullet in Lawrence's Ara guide cos this impudent rag drank from the Harrif well.

Yet, when I studied Lawrence as part of my military thesis [Australian Military College]I came away with an ostensible reality that collided neatly with the David Lean image that I had so treasured.

The effect was to remind me always to turn the page cos there will always be a twist to reality, a separate universe of truths that become obfuscated by our own David Lean-type images.

This plays its part in both my continual perceptions of the geo-political structures that people such as Duhbya create and of the workings of ordinary peoples who, as I do, inhabit weird worlds of cyberspace.

I have glanced at my Muhammed Aziz Jnr post of yesterday and surprise ... it was taken at face value.

So much for what I say of the future. That's why I don't bet on horses or at the casino...

I have been sent much on Cheney/Bush/Texas Tea connections, Don, and I am amazed at how many Americans actually know about this cartel and its assumed role in Duhbya's deliberations on the world stage. And are seemingly impotent to do anything about it.

This anomaly exists in Oz and I wrote a short novel called Gaberdine in which a group of disgruntled young men and women set out to express their indignation at the Howard Goverbnment's teatment of poor Australians, those who are not within the 'ruling clique's' bandwagon.

One of the group, a bloke named Cunt, devises the most remarkable method of 'spontaneous combustion' and with others in tow, heads off to parliament where he manages to half blow himself up while watching proceedings from the public gallery. The result is a mess and ... that's part of the story.

My message is that we are so frustrated by our perceptions of reality that 'suicide bombing' is the only way to express ourselves becos all avenues to the seats of power have been closed to us. We have no alternative other than to do something as radical [and ridiculous] as suicide.

It's Sunday! The local Saturday races were held in temps of 42 degrees Celsius. Did I go? No, I watered some poor plants that were struggling for existence in this insane heat.
