Depictions of breastfeeding are unsuitable for unsupervised young children, a television industry self-regulatory body has ruled.

An advertisement promoting breastfeeding, commissioned by the Australian Breastfeeding Association, was given a PG rating by the Federation of Australian Commercial Television Stations, restricting the hours it is aired.

At the end of the 30-second advertisement, which at one point shows the breast in profile, the baby is lifted to the woman's shoulder, looks at the camera and says, "Get ahead in life, suck up to the boss".
