I know of ways of making everyone happy but that would be a crime against a head of government. Joke!

Marcia Langton, Professor of Indigenous Studies, wrote a wonderful essay on exactly that subject, Ralph, except the Greeks weren't involved. She entitled it: 'Medicine Square' and argued that Aborigines traditionally and inherently, and that is the most important part of the argument, inherently, meet on common ground where no one has ground rights over the other. On this common ground, almost like the old English common square, disputes, arrangements, dalliances, agreements, trade etc occur. Since we took over their land, and it was their land, we have denied them this most important aspect/safety valve of their networking needs. It acts as palliative for their upsets et al.

The fucking Greeks have their Medicine Square at their fucking club so they have no gripe. They simply don't want 'noisy blacks' disturbing their peace. The Aborigines simply do not have this prerogative.

It is a result of the imperial move and we, as descendants of imperialism, must come to grips with this and deal with it. Medicine Square was a stepping stone for us to use.

At least, in our own small way, you and I and our fellow forumites are trying to deal with it, unlike others who abuse the notion.
