Our wantok, Tjampita, is closer to the best 'religion' in that when a bloke dies, his/her spirit remains with the community, sometimes in a form that is recognisable in or upon the landscape, or a simple breeze that comes and goes and refreshes those left behind.

The idea is not all that incompatible with the notion of parallel universes.
