Subject: Dark Tower re-make for the PC..

Hi guys. I just wanted to let the vectrex community know about my game Shadow Of The Lost Citadel. Shadow is intended as a faithful re-make of the Vectrex game Dark Tower.

I first saw Dark Tower at my friend Callan Hendricks' house, on his Vectrex multi-cart. There was no overlay of course, but the creepy black backdrop seemed to only add to the mood of this game where you would journey through a giant forest in the dead of night, searching for a mysterious "Dark Tower". I was basically hooked. When I got home, I jumped right on the internet and found a Vectrex emulator, and it was only a matter of time before I located Dark Tower roms.

So after a year of working for a major game company and about two years of building on my own studio, I am now laboring feverishly on a tribute to that fantastic game that captured my imagination so. Shadow Of The Lost Citadel is intended to play exactly like Dark Tower, while using modern graphics, sound effects and music. It is my goal to show the gaming world of 2000 that the amazing concepts of our modern 3D adventure/roleplaying games did not simply appear out of thin air. In fact, it is only by building on the hard work of the clever game design pioneers of the 70's and 80's that today's Eidos, Nintendo, Konami and Capcom can deliver the amazing games we now enjoy.

There are two things that make Dark Tower the perfect game for such a spotlight:

1) The 3rd-person perspective 3D interface was totally revolutionary for the time, especially for such a deep roleplaying-style game.

2) Dark Tower was never actually released, so even those who had a Vectrex in its prime have probably never heard of this game.

I will follow-up soon with a web-address for screenshots and info on the game (its still under construction.) In the mean time, please feel free to drop me feedback, oppinions, ideas, flack, or whatever.
