Subject: I need help to repair my Vectrex

Hi

I bought a Vectrex off Ebay but when I recieved it, it wan't working. I went through the usual procedure with the seller but it doesn't look like i'm going to get my money back. He says that when he packaged it, it was working.

The machine powers up, i can hear music and when i press buttons on the pad i can hear gun fire. Unfortunately the only thing on the screen is a thin white line with some small moving dots. I'm guessing that the monitor tube might be broken. Does anyone know where i might be able to get it repaired (i live in the UK)?

I was thinking about opening it up and having a tinker with it.
Does anyone have any advice as to how i might be able to fix it myself?

Have you had any luck with it since your post?

If not, you can try taking it to a tv repair shop, the Vectrex has pretty much the same off the shelf hardware as televisions do.
