How about you and your fellow ST fanatics organizing your own convention?

Look, in a way, I agree with you. I've attended FACTS since edition 2, and every year I see more and more anime and manga (which BTW is often overpriced and way too expensive). It's not the huge quantity of Japanese animation which bothers me (after all, I'm an occasional fan myself), but the fact that this goes to the expense of other things like SF and comic books.

However, saying that your taste is the best and that all the rest sucks, isn't very mature either. Personally, I've to admit that Star Trek bores me to hell. I'm a huge comic fan and the only reason I've been attending FACTS for all these years is to complete my comic collection. My wife is more into Star Trek and fantasy based stuff. So, it doesn't bother me at all that FACTS combines these different forms and I'm not gonna start a crusade in order to turn FACTS into a comics only convention. Something for every taste. That's the way it has been since start and the way it should stay. I would personally also like to see a little less spotlight on Japanase stuff and a little more on other things. Last year I filled in the review and one of my complaints was that comic related guests were almost non-present. It's hard for me to believe that with all those fantastic comic creators in Europe (UK, Spain, Italy etc...), they can't do any better. But I'm sure that if enough people ask, the people behind FACTS will do their best to improve this situation. After all, they have been doing a great job for the most part.

Take care,
